to the Youth of my Nation.

I know my words may fail to explain,
but deep within I have hopes & pain!
By this poem, I would try to express,
my motive is to present & not impress.

Everyone thinks the Youth is Use Less,
it's time to prove that we’re used-less!
We are awakened & have a clear focus,
together shall we break this baseless locus.

We are energetic, powerful & smart,
it's high time that we play our part!
We own our Nation & it’s problems too,
together shall we come & get it all through.

Gone is the time to look up & pray,
we need to care, serve, help; starting today!
We’re future & our nation is in our need,
together shall we come & sign this deed.

We, the generation of movies, spas & facebook,
should also consider giving our nation a new look!
We’ve to work selflessly & remove the strange,
together shall we bring the lovely change.

Start sharing & giving the gifts from above,
these are simple things like time & love.
Let’s fight out terrorism & corruption,
together shall we make India a better Nation!

THE POWER OF YOUNG INDIA
THE CHANGING VALUE SYSTEM
A nation which was considered a land of snake charmers, villages and elephant riders has come a long way to be recognized as the global hub of intellect in almost all major fields. Even villages which were just inconsequential dots on the map now have an identity of their own and are progressing towards urbanization through various channels.
Today’s generation is the product of the incredible sociological change which has happened because of eight years of liberalization. The scenario has changed from one party Socialist rule to free markets.
A look at our country and we observe that it is a “work in progress”. The generation of today is a product of it. The changing value system overridden by a liberal outlook and a strict business sense has overtaken what was once a disciplined ‘Gurukul’ thinking. Rationale has overtaken blind following of any rule. Arguments for and against the changing scenario are many and can be contested in numerous different ways. But one thing is for sure, the youth today does not behold its thought; though born with a stiff upper lip, they shoot straight from the hip.
Young India, a term coined because of the huge number of citizens in the age group of 13-35(approx. 54%, 542 million out of 1.2 billion population) is on a roll like never before.  An ancient civilization which was considered rich in traditions and values have now changed to the best developing country which can provide assistance to major countries in every sphere be it in the field of engineering, medicine, automobile etc.
Well, as we all know (if we read the economic news) India has been on a roll, tracking GDP of 7-8%. In fact it has been 9% in 2009. Even when the ‘recession times’ have bestowed their curse on us, we are still managing a strong 6%. One of the major contributions to this strong GDP growth is the booming IT industry. And take a bow young minds, it is all because of you.
How it contributes to the economy is a question one may ask. The answer lies in the changing value system. The viewpoint to save all the money and enjoy it after retirement has undergone a massive change to spend it now and enjoy the present times. The spending to procure the luxuries assists the economy. This is the sole reason why there are so many brands which focus on youth today. The ‘independents’ have decided to purchase what suffices their desire and means regardless of its impact on their savings. The other aspect is ‘job mobility’. Since most of the major hubs for employment lie in the metros, the youth is not afraid to leave their hometowns and live in these cities. There is a change in the mindset of the older fellows. They are supportive towards their children’s decision to move to larger cities.
Even the civil service exams have undergone a change. The examiners have understood that the talent base is broad. With the economic downturn, government jobs have become more attractive. With the advent of the 6th pay commission the pay has grown tenfold to match with the corporate sector. It helps in rural to urban migration. It is observed all the time in case of UPSC exams. It lures the youth to step out of their areas, come to metros, and study in coaching centers and work towards these exams.
The contemporary issues for the youth today are globalization, cultural clashes with the older generation, environment, population, materialism and lack of spirituality. There are many instances which can cite the concern of youth for the above mentioned issues. They have a positive outlook towards life though a minority exist who go for substance abuse and are a misfit. They are very concerned about family, education and work. They have a keen desire to make some contribution in nation building and are more aware of their surroundings than ever before. They are concerned and well informed about the politics of the nation and want to contribute both vocally and physically (Anna Hazare’s anti corruption movement).
As societies have become more complex, family circles and relatives are no longer the only options for socializing. Social media (websites like facebook, twitter, etc.) has come up a big way in closing the distances, have brought many people together and play a huge part in their daily lives. These media of communication are also a perfect channel for marketing and opinion formers.
Caste barriers which used to influence majorly in the past are almost non-existent. In terms of a college going student – “We are not aware of such things. They only come to our minds when we are filling application forms.” Education and literacy are eradicating these barriers.
This generational shift in choices, attitude seems so prominent because of the growing rate of the youth population of the country. Analysts say that by 2020 some 55% of the total population will be under the age of 35. This group is has more globally informed opinions, demand a more cosmopolitan society and want to be fully functional members of the global economy. The choice from being a humble servant of the government and live a safe and sustainable life has taken a paradigm shift with many young people opting to become entrepreneurs and contribute to a more vibrant economy.
The foundation of every state, every nation, is educating its youth. I hope we show them the path to be different and unique. The elder regard the choices made by the youth, guide and instruct them to hold themselves in high esteem. All change is not growth, as all movement is not forward. The current change in the value system has brought good opportunities. Let us hope we embrace it and reach to the zenith; the place where we deserve to be.

The Power of Young India

If power lies in numbers, then the youth of India represent a massive army that could deconstruct and reconstruct Rome in a day! If not that, then they could at least build a strong and stable future for India with certainty. With almost 50% of India’s population below 30 years of age, India’s greatest strength is the sheer number of people available to work, in business or government, in industry or service sectors. With an increasingly globalized, interconnected world, private sector jobs are moving to India, where the economy has withstood the assault of the financial meltdown. The large number also indicates an expanded voter base that is socially conscious, and wary of the bureaucratic lethargy and inefficiency of their parents’ generation which is still suffering from a socialist hangover. This generation has seen the massive opportunities that beckon it, the potential for development that the economic liberalization of the country has ushered in and they are hungry to be upwardly mobile, economically strong and socially progressive. Take for instance the example of thousands of graduates of Indian Schools who innovate their way to global, corporate and government leadership every year (say for examples, Indira Nooyi or Vikram Pandit), or even the thousands of young rural employees of rural BPO companies like Desicrew and B2R. From rural villages to urban cafes, the youth of the country, millions and millions of them are hungering for progress, and will, through their work and votes, usher in change that benefits them economically and socially, and strengthens India’s democratic institutions.

If power lies instead in potential, then India’s future looks even more robust. From M.S. Dhoni to Chetan Bhagat (both of whom were named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time Magazine in 2011), India’s got some of the world’s best talented youth that boast of Booker awardees and CEOs of multinationals and international sportspersons. India’s talent shows on television, her students that win International Olympiads and competitions and multitude others who, through their own hard work, persistence and self-belief overcome challenging circumstances to achieve personal greatness—all bear witness to the incredible potential that India as a country holds in every field of human endeavor. India has historically had a spirit of entrepreneurship; its legions of merchant traders have risen from small villages to form companies like TATA and Reliance. Its sportswomen like Mary Kom have broken social barriers and its academicians have taught the world everything from the invaluable mathematical concept of zero to the methods of international development. Indian youth have been bequeathed a legacy of great potential and they are proving themselves to be worthy bearers of the tradition of excellence of this country.

If power, above all, comes from a desire and ability to create social change, then India’s future is unstoppable! If one needs evidence to believe this rather grand proclamation, then how about the thousands of young, spirited men and women, with their candlelight marches and sincere slogan, displaying solidarity for Anna Hazare, in independent India’s biggest civil movement? Or how about the nearly 1000 fellows of Teach for India, dedicated to addressing India’s education crisis? Youth leaders like Rustam Sengupta and Anand Shah, among countless others are addressing social problems that for years had seemed intractable, and are developing ingenious, sustainable ways to tackle them. Those generations-old maladies of India—corruption, lack of education, failure of governance systems, all seem trivial in the face of resolute will of young idea to create social change through individual initiative and community efforts. I’m a youth in this country and even if I say this myself, I have seen, experienced, and been a part of the Power of the Youth of India and even though the challenge to create a truly free, fair and developed India is huge, we are ready!

How the youth is creating the, new India

“Just as energy is the basis of life itself, and ideas the source of innovation, so is innovation the vital spark of all human change, improvement and progress”.
It is appropriate that Theodore Levitt, an american economist who popularised the term globalisation provided the best single line perspective on the primary fuel for the 21st century’s world.

Innovation is that ephemeral, ancient human ability to spark change. It began millions of years ago and continues today in dramatically more complex form as we fashion  computer circuits from sand, electricity from water and endless opportunities from thin air. And this is precisely where the power of young India lies. And this undoubtedly forms the bedrock of the great edifice that we call as the “Yuva Shakti”.The youth of India have catalysed an innovation revolution which has helped transform India from the world’s backoffice into a leading knowledge hub. Youth are driving change in a spectrum of areas – from education to business to the environment.

But where did the magic happen? The answer lies in the ability of  young Indians to rise above all hurdles the government and society throws at them. Despite limitations imposed by weak infrastructure and an antiquated education system,  Indian youths have never lagged behind when called upon to meet any challenge. And herein lies India’s greatest innovation. There are numerous untold stories of young entrepreneurs silently giving india a steely new cutting edge. Whether in automobiles, chemicals or in telecommunications, a new , new India is emerging with a palette of more colours, stronger and more vibrant.

Contrary to popular notions, innovation need not involve sparkling new technologies. Rather the beauty of the Indian genius lies in it being able to repurpose an existing technology well enough to fit the needs of people who need it the most. Indian youth have encountered challenges in starting up businesses, enabling social change, gaining capital, cultivating citizen engagement, and facilitating innovation in the public sector – and they have addressed them. They have invented new models and approaches and have brought about innovative solutions to challenges related to entrepreneurship, education, and civic participation, as well as public sector and social innovation.
Even in the times of slowdown, the Indian talent supply was able to catch up with demand. Additionally thanks to the combination of recession in the U.S. and that of country’s flawed immigration policies there’s a flood of highly educated and skilled talent returning home to India.

Although young Indians are creating change in different fields and spaces, they often find that risk taking, innovating and following one’s dreams are neither encouraged, nor appreciated or supported. Parents, teachers, peers encourage and sustain a culture that favours professional achievements over ‘playing with ideas’, paycheck security over ‘dynamic work’. Young Indians are encouraged to eschew risks and follow well-trodden, ‘safe’ paths to jobs, security and prosperity. These cultural and societal aspects have led to a whole generation of risk-averse young people, who though full of ideas, shelve them in the pursuit of secure and ‘socially respected’ career highways. Innovation is left behind on the nondescript side-roads.

What we fail to see is that youth of India are the heirs apparent of this vast and diverse nation. Youth power is a recognized force in the world.  They are critical to the shaping of  India’s economic future. Therefore, the development process of a next-generation innovation ecosystem must involve young Indians.Though there have been many government initiatives that have pushed genuine youth engagement, little attention is given to the promotion of youth involvement in policy-making, and there is little recognition of the value that this participation would bring to our economy and society. While senior decision-makers understand the value of reaching across sectors for creative solutions, the notion of reaching across generations is, in most cases, un- or under-harnessed.

There is no denying the fact that young people solve problems, create change, and contribute to creating a better India. Young people are a source of refreshing insight, unique perspectives, and a new association of ideas. Not to mention, youth are the current engine for innovation in all sectors – research, social, government, and business.
Today India has the talent in its youth that can create groundbreaking innovations and discoveries. A young Indian feels that he has something to prove. The potential is enormous. If we are to improve India’s prosperity and comparative advantage, now is the time to engage young innovators and changemakers at all levels of the innovation dialogue. Governments must foster more meaningful youth participation on issues that affect society as a whole, not just on obvious “youth issues.” It  is high time for our leaders to inject a fresh vigour in our youth and lead our country to new heights of glory.

The power of Young India

"If not me, then who? If not now, then when?"

Abdul Kalam in one of his speeches mentioned, “The great challenge of transforming India can be achieved through youth which has got the power of ideas, ambition and ability.”  Young India is a creating a revolution and how. The percentage population of Indian Youth is around 65%.  And today if we see, the entire nation, in a way, is handled by the youngsters of our country. They are not only coming up with bright and innovative ideas to transform the society as a whole, but are also propagating the importance to be responsible citizens to the elders! This was proved in the recent revolution against corruption. Anna Hazare was supported mainly by youngsters. Also, Ruben Macarenhans, 23, is a founder member of IAC (India against Corruption).  Youngsters were seen in large numbers across India demanding a strong draft of the Jan LokPal Bill. The most important part was that, they encouraged other people to do so too. Their strong voices coupled with immense patriotism and a strong sense of duty towards the citizens made a huge impact on the entire event.

Many other youth organisations are also making their impact felt and are creating waves of transformation in the society. They are independent, thoughtful, and active and are willing to be passionate volunteers for various causes. WAYE (World Alliance for Youth Empowerment) is a voluntary organisation formed by two IIT-ians in their 20s. The organisation has been expanding at a great rate since it was established in the year 2004. They have been teaching courses called YES! + (Youth Empowerment and Skills Workshop) which aim at an overall development of 18-30 year old making them responsible and law abiding citizens.

The power of Young India doesnot ceases to grow. It is touching every sector. IT industry in India today has reached its zenith because of its young people! Call centres are booming because of them. Today many young people are working as the heads and CEOs of various companies. And not stopping at this, many are starting up their own ventures with innovative themes on sustainable, ecological and creative businesses. They are exploring new and existing resources like never before. Who had thought that a simple act of SMSing (considered a “useless” rage by some elder people) would create such an impact on various issues like limit on alcohol age issue, do not drink and drive, corruption( Jail bharo andolan, Thali Rally etc.) They have been harnessing technology for reasons no one might have thought of. Using Face book to gather people in a marathon, rally etc. It sounds so usual now, but was not earlier. In fact there were forecasts that these things would have a negative impression on the young people.

In retrospect, there was a large gap between the rural and urban youngsters. Rural youths were supposed to be villagers and illiterates having less knowledge. But due to penetration of technology and educational facilities in the villages and rural areas and due to many laws which help the poor learn, the scene is totally different today. Rural youths are in fact leading in many ways. They are realising that to make a self sufficient village, education is of utmost important. And to do this event their parents are working hard so that the youth after learning provide valuable input on village development.

There is much more power to be unleashed. Not everyone has realised the true potential of the Indian Youth. This is because there are many who think that the youth is going in the wrong direction, not paying heed to Indian tradition or culture and aping western ways. But this has thought has been challenged by the youth. They are also responsible for creating an equalitarian society where there are equal opportunities for everyone. They are taking stands on almost all issues regarding the country be it economics, social or political.

The biggest asset for India is its youth. The diagram below proves that. While other countries might be struggling to recruit young people for various jobs, India won’t be.
The young are doing everything that earlier was thought to be unconventional. The only thing that is now essential is to develop their minds and train them to have an entrepreneur attitude. They also need to be encouraged to have a spirit of enquiry. They have to be empowered and encouraged toward making this world a better place.

For any power to last, it should come from deep within.  Several times in history, India has dominated and shaped the world. Be it the case of Chandragupta Maurya, Ashoka or Akbar, it has happened only due to the extraordinary leadership of a single individual. For the same reason, these powers have barely lasted beyond their creator’s existence. For a nation to be a real and lasting superpower, the power should flow through its lowest echelons.
Statistics show that India has a huge advantage over any other country in the world due to its young population. 50% of the population is under 25 years of age and over 65% under the age of 35. India is expected to add 241 million people to its working age population in the next 20 years. But these are merely numbers and statistics on their own rarely account for anything. Unless appropriate opportunities of employment and livelihood are provided, this youth bubble could very well implode under its own weight. This is exactly where one can see the clear difference between the India of the past and the India of today. The youth of India know what they rightfully deserve and are not afraid to demand it. This was clearly visible from the recent mass anticorruption moment that the country witnessed. At the same time they are impatient enough to bring about change through our own actions. The examples are galore in all corners of the country where people have used enthusiasm, calculated risk taking and innovation to tackle complicated problems with astonishing success.
Agriculture, the foundation of any self sustaining nation is witnessing a transformation with young entrepreneurs stepping in. For example, Rahul Gal after finishing his education in Australia returned to his native village and deployed computerized systems to help farmers grow export quality dates in otherwise barren Kutch. Similarly Rikin Gandhi, an engineer from MIT, USA founded the Digital Green Company for creating awareness about efficient farming methods and has already covered 1200 villages in several states. Another entrepreneur, Santosh Oswal developed a mobile motor pump gadget for farmers and has already benefited more than 7000 farmers across India. Two students, Gyanesh Pandey and Manoj Sinha are providing clean energy to more than 10,000 villagers in rural UP by generating electricity through gasification of risk husks.
Mahatma Gandhi said “A nation’s greatness is measured by how it treats the weakest members of its society”. Standing true to this statement, Abhishek Bharadwaj created Alternative Realities that works towards raising awareness and addresses the needs of Mumbai’s 1,00,000 odd homeless people. Robin Chaurasiya provided girls who were victims of sexual trafficking with a home and an opportunity to work and learn. Kranti is an organization which is run by rehabilitated girls themselves and allows them to realize their full potential. Similarly Gautam Gupta started AAWAJ that mobilizes the community against any complains of violence against women and girls and provides legal help to victims through its more than 100 youth members and 18 legal teams. To counter the problem of drug addiction among youth in Manipur, Vikram Laishram founded the Better Treatment Equals Better Life Foundation. The whole programme is developed entirely by 300 members who are recovering drug users themselves.
To ensure that India keeps growing beyond the current generation, it is necessary to ensure that all children avail education. To address the lack of an effective education system for children from all strata of the society as well interiors of the country a unique systems need to be developed. To address these issues Deepika Singh launched Udaan, an initiative that has allowed 12000 students access to primary education till date. Jitin Nedumala and his two friends launched Make a Difference foundation which recruits college students to teach Cambridge University English curriculum part time to children who have no access to proper education thereby hugely increasing their chances of getting employed later. Arundhuti Gupta took this a step further by providing qualified mentors to disadvantages students to help them develop multiple skills through her Mentor Together initiative.
These are but a handful of examples from the multitude of young individuals who have quit lucrative jobs and potential corporate careers and are striving to make a difference. Indian youth isn’t merely the IT savvy club hopping type anymore that is portrayed in the media but it is these individuals who are empowering not only other individuals but entire communities and helping them find their own lasting solutions. These young Indians are not merely complaining or shying away from responsibility anymore but are changing and even creating a new system from ground up. The India that they are building is one which is self-sustaining, resilient and strong from within. They are the real power behind the superpower that is India.

“You teach me Rules, I’ll teach you How to Break Them”
This Line Depicts the Mentality of Young Blood in Modern Era. As the modernization is going on, POWER in the Hand of Youth is increasing. All over the world you can see the Young Generation emerging as the ‘Power’ or ‘Fuel’ to run the Nation. Especially in India, Young Blood is being found in many Revolutionary Acts.  First Struggle for Independence, then Leading Nation to Modern Era and the Latest Anti-Corruption Movement… Everywhere we can see Power of Youth bringing considerable change to Country and its ages old System. It was active participation of Young India in Anti-Corruption movement, started by Anna Hazare, which led that movement to Success. It was Young Power which forced Indian Government to bow down to the Demands of Civil Society and whole Nation.

Young Blood in India is just like Gold, more you heat it, better it gets…  They always had Great Potential… In terms of Potential Energy, Young India can be compared with Dynamite… As Dynamite is necessary for making paths in mountains same Young Blood is necessary to build the Path of Success but as we all know-
“Excess of Everything is bad”

So, if Power in Young Hands increases than a specific Limit then it can bring Disaster to the Country and it’s Dream of becoming “SUPERPOWER”… India aspires to be called “Developed Nation” but without the Support of Youth, Indian System will never allow our country to become DEVELOPED…
“System does not runs Government, Government runs the System…”
This problem of System can only be rectified by aggressive, motivated, energetic, innovative, charged and most important CONTROLLED Young Blood… The enormous Power of Youth needs someone to provide them Direction so that their power can be used for GOOD and this Direction is provided by Leaders, Sportsman, Businessman and Common People…  Ranilaxmi Bai, Tatya Tope and many more leaders led Young Blood to ignite the Spark for Independence… It was youth who made our Independence but they never came to know about their Real Power, about the Dynamite inside them…

In This Modern Era Anna Hazare showed us who we really are… Now we know our Value… Now whole World knows the Dynamite inside us… We will show them who we really are…

This Short Writing Depicts “US” the “Young India” ….
We got the Power,
We got the Spark,
We got the Talent,
We got the Support…

We are the Change,
Don’t Copy us
Because we never remain Same…

One Day we are this,
Another We are that
do you know who we are???
We are NEW IMAGE of Youngistan…

We work whole Night…
We work for Country,
We work for Pride…

We respect our Values,
We respect our Traditions,
Believe US
We are not the SAME…

do you know who we are???
We are NEW IMAGE of Youngistan…

We don’t want to be just a part we want to participate…
We don’t want to remove Old System we just want to Change it…

“Don’t quit when Tide is High, because it’s just about to turn…
Don’t quit when Night is Darkest, because it’s just a while till dawn…
Don’t quit because you’re not Failure until you fail to TRY… ”

Somewhere these Lines depict “US”…
In the End I just want to write these beautiful lines which I read somewhere,
Power of Young India cannot be explained in words… It’s a limitless topic… It’s something we all feel, it’s something we always knew but never accepted… Young Blood is the most dangerous weapon a country can have but still its potential is not recognized… Power needs to change, from OLD to YOUNG but still there should be Guidance for “US”…

We are the Leaders,

The Power Of The Youth

Today’s youth.
Tomorrow’s leaders.

It is today’s youth, that will go on to become the controllers of this world. Their knowledge, intelligence, enterprise and decisions will determine the world’s prosperity. Both good and bad decisions will influence the people, the society, the country and  lastly, the whole of mankind.  Where one wise choice can change lives, an unwise choice can destroy many.

It is the youth that decides trends. What’ cool, what’s not. What’s in, what’s not. What’s good, what’s not. If we can be capable of creating a widespread mindset, then why not raise our voices in issues that matter?  It is only a matter of time when we decide that fighting for the greater cause is ‘in’.
And that trend, will change the world as we know it.

Who says one man (or woman) can not make a difference?
It is when each person decides to stand together and fight for something they believe in, that the power of the youth can truly be demonstrated. Together, we can not only improve our society, but can put all our heads together to do something that can benefit the whole world.

If the youth of our country gets together, every hurdle can be overcome.
Nothing can be too difficult or impossible. Nothing can be unachievable.

Each one teach one. And illiteracy will be history.
Each one donate some. And poverty will be a thing of past.
Each one take responsibility. And the world will be a better place to be in.

It’s our time now. Observe, introspect, take action.

THE POWER OF YOUNG INDIA
“Be the change you want to see in the world.”
                                              ~ Mahatma Gandhi

64 year old democracy is what we own, change in on-going practices is what we desire, becoming a super power is what we aspire. But all these things can’t be achieved in a single day. A shock treatment is needed to pave the way for a change to happen. That's what happened in our nation India in the year 2011. The year saw a plethora of events ranging from World Cup Victory to Ramdev and Anna Hazare’s individual protests against corruption with blundering UPA Govt. cracking under pressure from people’s power and more importantly India being united on the topic of corruption. All these endeavours affirm that young India has started refusing to mortgage his conscience and possess never-say-die attitude.

At the time of struggle for independence, Gandhi called upon the youth to participate actively in the freedom movement. Young leaders likes Nehru came to his reckoning and led the movement. In 1974 during JP movement, some areas of Bihar were severely infected by chicken pox. Jaiprakash Narayan expressed his worries over this matter and within some time students of Patna Medical College accredited his call and completed the work of vaccinating the thousand’s infected. In the similar manner active and energetic participation of youth in Anna Hazare’s fight against corruption movement has again strengthened the norm that this young generation, a representative of Young India is not in a slumber. They possess enormous strength to turn the tide when united and rule the world. Further this mass participation also raised a question to re-cogitate the sayings that this generation has lost its track, they don’t value the Indian culture and rituals, they are slowly and steadily becoming the slaves of westernisation, they consider McDonald’s aloo tikki more tastier as compared with aloo ke paranthe, who dance on the tune of Sheela and Munni, late night pubs discothèques and rave have become their daily routine. If this generation is such strayed, then why instantaneously all of them came together, sculpted a 74years old man with a Gandhian cap as their role model and jumped into the fight against corruption?

Delhi’s ramlila ground witnessed one of the epic moments in the history of India. Fight against corruption movement led by Anna Hazare - a cool dude in Gandhi cap as titled by majority of young blood, spun numerous odds against their team into their favour and made the Govt. accept their demand of Jan Lokpal Bill. The backbone of movement being the passionate support shown by the youth. Be it an engineering student of Mumbai or manager of multinationals like Infosys belonging to Bengaluru or a Rickshaw puller of Delhi, all of them joined hands on a single call of Anna, took oaths, sang slogans and successfully completed a protest which was based on Gandhian philosophy of non-violence. The huge support shown by the youth made the protest being termed as second struggle for independence. All had a single motive i.e. to uproot the corruption from its ground level and make India a corruption free nation. And this demographic reality of India’s youth bulge could not escape the attention of the India’s political scenario either. A government steeped in the flotsam of corruption saw the rising tsunami and quickly acceded to Hazare's demands and marked a victory of the youth. This clearly indicates that the power that these young guns possess is ample enough to make their voices heard and to bring out the desirable changes.

All the established outlooks need a change as this isn’t any old India. As a PepsiCo TV commercial once suggested, this is “Youngistaan”, the Land of the Young and youth is its power. This is the generation who dream big and have drive to achieve it. They are the generation in the right place at the right time. Instant is today’s expectation with speed dominating their minds. They want everything achieved and that too faster, better & brighter. This is a generation of born multi taskers on the information and ambition super high way. This generation is an invaluable asset possessed by our country which truly embodies the Power of Young India.

“It’s now or it’s never, let our marks remain forever.
The time today needs a change, let’s combat and fix all the frames.
We’ll be heard, we’ll be respected and we’ll be strongly trusted.
Then only India will rise and will rule the world in style.”

Gandhian Ideology Inspired Rocking Youth - The Power Of Young India

Jateel Tandel_FMS_GenXpressionz

ROLE OF YOUTH IN INDIA’S DEVELOPMENT

It is said that youth is the spark which can either burn or lighten the country. And in a developing country like India where the major part of the population consists of the youth, it is very necessary that major attention should be given to proper growth and development of young generation.
It is estimated that between 2010-2030, India will have around 241 million working youth population. This will even surpass China eventually. With correct guidance and opportunities this huge and dynamic youth population can become the biggest positive factor for the growth of this country at present and in the years to come.  They are the storehouse of infinite energy which can bring prosperity to this country when channelized into the right direction. Our History has many examples to inspire the current generation such as Swami Vivekanand, Bhagat Singh and many more. Even in present times we have many young ideals like Sachin Tendulkar, Vishwanathan Anand etc who have brought worldwide name and fame to this country.
Young generation can play major role in Politics as people may look up to them as someone who can do miraculous things with their new ideas and find better solutions to their problems. History has witnessed great contribution from few young Indians in the field of politics like Rajiv Gandhi, Sachin Pilot etc. Still the contribution is not up to the mark. The pace of development of this Nation would have been much higher if more young Indians would have participated in active Politics of the country. Sadly enough most of the young talented pool is drawn towards private jobs with luring salaries and also many consider Politics as a dirty game. Even among those who are actually into it, very few are actually serving the country rather than reaping the benefits for their own good. If we want to see India among the developed countries of the world it is very essential to rekindle the spirit of serving owns country in the youth by getting into Politics. It is through Politics only that power of young India can transform it to a Nation of which our ancestors have dreamt of since the dawn of Independence.
It is true our youth is not satisfied with the existing system but most of them blame the system instead of coming forward to take the responsibility on their own shoulders. Educated young generation should come forward with new ideas and policies and replace out of date policies instead of blaming them as hurdles in the path of country’s progress.
Not just Politics, there are many other professions such as Agriculture, Journalism, Education System, Research, Entrepreneurship etc. which are nowadays mostly ignored by the youth actually need to be paid more attention for proper growth of this country. This view will be generated only when they start thinking about the progress of the Nation and not just about their individual development.
The youth today are even facing a lot of problems today. Many of them feel alienated among the experienced older generation due to increasing generation gap. Job opportunities are affected by increasing population and reservation quota. Getting good Education has become difficult for poor students due to increasing quality education in expensive private institutions and poor quality of the same in Government institutions. Due to these issues many are diverted towards the wrong direction and indulge in negative practices like corruption, drug addiction, terrorism etc.
Many steps can be taken to decrease the hurdles faced by the young generation and equip them with the power they require to lead this country. Education system should be improved. Number of Government Institutions with quality education like IITs should be increased. Better job opportunities in the country itself should be provided to minimize export of country’s talent to other developed Nations. Awareness and educational campaigns should be organized by educational institutions and firms for rural youth. Even media like movies for example can play a major role in inspiring young India. ‘Rang De Basanti’,’Aarakshan’, ‘No one Killed Jessica’ etc are few of such examples from recently released ones which had content good enough to strike the chords of youth for serving their country selflessly and fight for corruption without any fear. The recent campaign against corruption held by Anna Hazare was revolutionizing and the enthusiasm shown by young generation was indeed worth appreciating. More such initiatives from young people are required for country’s growth as a corruption free, prosperous and powerful Nation.
Young generation is an asset to this country with their immense vibrancy, energy, talent and intelligence. They are the future leaders of this Country. Youth of India dreams of a country free of poverty, unemployment, corruption and disease and converting this dream into reality ultimately lies in their hands only.

Why is Everyone Talking About the Power of Young India?

There are a number of reasons why everyone around us is talking about the power of a young India. For one, we are the people who can make a difference. We are the one who can set the tone for a generation to come. We are the ones who have raised our voices after years of facing defeat from a corrupt government. We have realized that we deserve better and that we can make it happen, what are we talking about here? It’s  change, a change that guarantees a tomorrow that if bereft of corruption.

So, how can we make this happen? Well, to make a change to the system, we have to be in the system, and apparently the Indian government has a criminal criteria that they require to get people into the system. So, while young India gears up to meet those qualifications, should we sit back and wait, or should we take things into our own hands as civilians and try and make a difference. The answer to that will be a resounding yes, at the rallies that had been recently organized for India against corruption. However, after the curtains are down and the fasts are over, people go back home and forget that they have a power residing within them that they need to exploit.

That does not happen. People simple go back home and revert to how they were used to living life until another civilian, another man with a plan comes to the fore and says, it is now time to make a difference, it is the young that should stand with me and help me make a difference. Soon that will be forgotten too.

The mere mentality of every Indian, young or old needs to be changed, they need to start believing in change and making efforts to make that happen. Blaming the government and cribbing about the few things that make the news is not something that is going to get us too far. If the power for change rests within us, it’s not just a handful that are going to be able to make a difference. The spark for a revolution comes from absolute depravity, and the  youngsters of today, have what it takes in terms of income to let things slide.

We, the young Indians are comfortable with the system, a few of us know that not carrying a license will get us off the hook if we get caught, a few of us have accepted the fact that paying a few hundreds will allow to get away with anything and we will be shattered if things were to change. How are we going to change that…?

The Power of Young India

Charismatic Leadership

India has witnessed several revolutions and has successfully stood before the weathers of change and after every strike of hammer that struck its body it only turned to become better like an un-carved piece of rock which gradually shaped into a beautiful portrait. With every stroke of chisel there was an unravelled beauty that emerged from within. The country stood like a rock before the waves of change, waves of destruction that tried to rupture its fabric but were not able to shake the country’s beliefs, its ideology and determination. The destructive forces either fell flat on their face in their endeavours or were finally assimilated in the diverse social fabric of the country and became an integral part of the society.
Today’s India that we see, is the consecration of all the sacrifices that were made by the inspiring leaders of the country who at time and again rose to the occasion and lead this country with their charisma. These are the people who despised the social evils, pursued freedom relentlessly without caring for themselves. These are the people who not only brought laurels to the country before the rest of the world but also demonstrated how to take the people in their stride and lead them. India is attributed as a powerful and sovereign nation because of the great sacrifices made by these charismatic leaders on the altar on the development.

Youth of India

Of all the resources that a country needs we are endowed in abundance with the most important of all and that is the Young Population. It is the youth power only that we have been striding in almost every sector and region and giving the country, the much needed push for its further development and growth. The youth of this country have braved against all the odds present before them and have emerged as successful entrepreneurs in all the walks of the life by taking risks and beating them down. The youth of the country have been successfully able to steer the growth engine of the economy and have been able to disapprove all the doubts that have been casted as hurdles before the growth of India and its people. Country’s youth has challenged the age old norms of the society and discarded those that tried to shackle the growth of the nation. The country today vaunts of the prosperity brought to it by its youth who is exuberant about the future of the nation.

India at Cross-Roads

The country today stands at the crossroads of the development and is plagued with several issues that need to be taken quickly because of the disruptive forces that try to impede the progress of development story. The country today again needs a charismatic leader who can lead the country out of grief-stricken state and make the country shine on the Global arena. The youth of India is present in all the sectors and segments but Leadership. The youth of India is today shirking of its major responsibility of leading the country. The youth today abstains from leading the country at the political front and tries to engage itself it in activities that project a self-centred development of its own. The country is veering astray on its course of being a super-power. A place which gave world some of the best leaders today faces dearth of great leaders because of one simple reason and that being, its own youth finds politics a subject of un-touch ability. This callousness has left the country lurching in the darkness and being ruled by the people who indifferent to the progress of the country and its people.

Lead India

The power of the youth is immense and is a much sought after entity that the country needs today. There is power of Transformation with the youth that can redefine the fate of this country, fate of its people. The youth has the power of determination which can raise the country to new heights. But in order to achieve this goal there is need of participation from the youth who can lead the country from the frontline. Former President Dr. Abdul Kalam said there is need of Ignited Minds today that can make a marked difference in shaping the country as a World Leader. The need of a leader, calls today the young generation to take up the stage and unleash its power to re-define the challenges. There is no dearth of either talent or the numbers to make the things happen but determination and spirit of leadership. This article makes another attempt to address the youth so that it sheds off its ignorance of leading country and urges them to make this country a place as envisioned by our great Freedom Fighters.
